In Loving Memory of Ruby Marshall
Ruby Marshall, known and loved by her family and friends, was born on May 8, 1955, in Lewes, Delaware. She peacefully passed away on August 15, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, love, laughter, and lessons that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Ruby was a woman who found joy in the simple things in life. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning, growing plants, fishing, crabbing, taking trips to the casino and playing scratch-off tickets. She loved creating beautiful spaces that reflect her love for nature, while turning something into nothing. She was a hardworking woman who spent most of her life working as a housekeeper in Ocean City, Maryland, taking pride in her work and providing for the people she loved. Throughout her illness she continued to show up and spend quality time with her great grandchildren Rylen and Raina who brought her so much joy. She maintained a relationship with God and read her word often. She was a TRUE giver, if she had it, you had it.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Rogers and Henry Holden. Ruby’s passing comes just two days after the passing of her mother Mildred Rogers. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing she didn’t have to make the journey alone.
Ruby leaves to cherish her memory her children: Deedee Marshall of Baltimore, Maryland; one son Paradise Marshall of New Jersey; Yolanda Marshall of Magnolia, Delaware; and Tia Deshields of Magnolia, Delaware. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Candace Sykes, Ebony Evans, ZyeAire Brent, Antoine Henderson, Tykwan James, Anwar Marshall, Tiana and Giana Deshields, Dwight “DJ” Tingle, Jr., Jordyn Marshall-Gibbs, Ajaly Marshall, Jaquan Marshall, Sariyaha Young, along with a host of great-grandchildren. Siblings - Charles Marshall, Tyrone Marshall, Valerie Bundick, Angelo Romero, Henry Holden III, Maryland Holden, Marilyn Holden-Gibbs, Vernetha Holden, Emma Holden-Gibbs. And a host aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ruby’s memory will live on through the stories shared, the meals she prepared, the plants she nurtured, the laughter she gave, and most importantly, through the family she loved so dearly. Though she may no longer be with us in person, the love she gave will remain with us forever.
Rest peacefully, Ruby. You will be deeply loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
We encourage those who knew and loved Ruby to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page. Each story, each photo, is a testament to the extraordinary life she lived. Let's keep her memory alive, for as long as we remember Ruby, she will always be with us.
