Robin Jones, 61, of New Castle, Delaware, passed away on March 13, 2025. A vibrant soul, Robin was born in Brooklyn, New York, on July 25, 1963, to Joseph and Mary Dowling.
Robin proudly graduated from Roosevelt Junior-Senior High School in 1981 and went on to study Criminal Justice at Nassau Community College, where she earned her associate’s degree. Driven by an unwavering commitment to advocacy, she launched her career at Nassau County Jail, dedicating many years to uplifting marginalized and underrepresented communities. Her passion for making a significant impact ultimately led her to become the Director of Volunteering at Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow, New York.
From a young age, Robin wholeheartedly dedicated her life to serving the Lord, embodying vigor and compassion in all she did. As a respected evangelist, she zealously shared the Word of God and extended her helping hand to anyone in need.
At the age of 17, Robin encountered the love of her life, Gonzales “Tony” Jones, at Uniondale High School. Their love story blossomed beautifully, culminating in a heartfelt marriage on February 14, 1982, marking the beginning of a lifelong journey. Together, they were blessed with five wonderful children: Jason, Jennifer, Jessica, Jascilynn, and Joshua.
In 2007, Robin made a significant decision to move to Delaware, driven by her desire to deepen her family connections and nurture her relationships with her immediate family. She quickly acclimated to her new environment and poured her energy into various church ministries, uplifting those around her with her unwavering spirit. Robin was a beacon of kindness and generosity. She had an extraordinary ability to love deeply and give selflessly, always sharing from the overflowing abundance of her heart.
She was deeply devoted to the well-being of those around her. When a devastating storm struck her community, it caused a prolonged power outage, leaving many in desperate need. Determined to help, she emptied her freezer and fired up the grill, cooking warm meals for her neighbors. Her unwavering commitment ensured that no one in her community went hungry during such a challenging time.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Tony, her father Joseph, her sister Caren, and her brother Anthony.
Robin is survived by her devoted mother, Mary Dowling; her cherished children, Jason (Sonja) Jones, Jennifer Jones, Jessica Jones, Jascilynn Jones, and Joshua Jones; her grandchildren, Tahjae Jones, Jatiek Jones, Tamira Jones, Julian Jones, Cherish Jones, Janiya Jones, Summer Foster, Armani Foster, Jaylen Jones, Jade Jones, Jace Jones, Jrue Jones, Jesiah Jones, and Joshua Hutchinson; her brother Mark Dowling (Desiree - deceased); her sister Marsha Rogers (Ronnie); her brothers-in-law Joseph Toles and Carlton Pittman; and her beloved friends Latisha Hutchinson, Victoria Daniel-Brown, Gayle Simon and Lanitra Pettyjohn, along with a vast network of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whose lives she touched. Robin's legacy of love and service will forever resonate in the hearts of those she inspired, and her indomitable spirit will continue to encourage us all.
We invite those who knew Robin to share their memories and upload photos to the memorial page.
